c–research

C-Research is the core of the activity of the Creative Park project unit. It consists in research initiatives about selected topics of high relevance, developed with the C–Park project-based forecasting methodology, for the envisioning of innovative business models and the ;prediction of future scenarios.

C–Park investigates each research topic through a series of different projects, activating different skills and competences within the academic institutions of NABA and Domus Academy, with a multi-disciplinary approach and a highly experimental attitude. For the development of these research-based projects, C-Park is seeking synergical collaborations with companies, associations, institutions and partners of different kinds (other universities, research centers, etc.).

Food

We are what we eat, someone says.

But, if so, we may not know exactly who we are. Contemporary urban societies seem to have lost the natural connection with the matter that nurtures them. C-Park aims at finding the possibility of a new paradigm for the food chain, from production to distribution and consumption, based on the evidence that the development of a new food model is a key-business of the upcoming future.

Disability

One day, we will all be diverse.

There is not only one kind of disability, but a large number of different ones - temporary or permanent; visible or invisible; mental or physical; partially or totally disabling - that may affect each of us. Disability is one of the possible conditions of our life. C-Park intends to explore the relationship between design and the many different forms of disability, across multiple fields of investigation, starting from the consideration that the development of digital fabrication and digital networking may be addressed to open up innovative opportunities to improve the quality of a disabled life through customized solutions.

Smart City

Possible utopia.

Sustainability, soft mobility, self-sufficiency; oil-free cities, hyper-connected cities, big data that can be smart data too. From the small scale of a houseware object to the big scale of urban mobility networks, can we live using less resources, or using resources in a more intelligent and efficient way? C-Park seeks for positive responses in the different fields of our manifold, integrated, contemporary lives.

Future Communication

Can we talk tomorrow?

Social networking, shared information, digital publishing, internet of things, ultraportable devices, brain mapping, vegetal intelligence: communication is entering into a totally new dimension and, as well, into a new system of values, radically different from the ones we were used to know. C-Park intends to explore some unexplored territories of the communication among people, objects, machines, nature, to draw the maps for navigating a future which can not be yet completely predicted.

From recycling to reloading

New life for old guys.

When objects and things get functionally obsolete, they too often become useless waste. Re-cycling appears to be just a partial solution. C-Park envisions a possible future where things are designed in order to be able to acquire new meanings and new functions before reaching obsolescence. A different lifecycle possibility for billions of things owned by the billions of people who inhabit this little planet Earth.
